CI4R High School Intern Wins CARSEF Accolades

Catherine Kung, a high school student at Indian Springs School in Birmingham Alabama and research intern at CI4R Labs since summer 2021, presented her project entitled “Recognition of American Sign Language (ASL) Trigger Words Using RF Sensors in Combination with Deep Neural Networks” in the Engineering Category of the Central Alabama Regional Science and Engineering Fair (CARSEF) at the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB) on March 5, 2022.  Her work received top honors as 1st Place in Engineering and was one of four projects selected to continue to the prestigious Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) to be held in Atlanta, GA next month.  Congratulations, Catherine!
