On June 22nd, 2022, Dr. Sevgi Z. Gurbuz, Dr. Darrin Griffin, and CI4R graduate students Oladipupo Adeoluwa and Emre Kurtoglu taught a 4-hour STEM workshop to Deaf high school students. Basic principles of radar, machine learning, and radar-based ASL recognition were covered. Students experimented with radar systems for activity and ASL recognition, engaging in discussions about the technology.
