CI4R at IEEE International Radar Conference Radar Boot Camp (RBC)

It was my great honor to serve as IEEE International Radar Conference Student Programs Co-Chair and co-organize with Austin Foote (GTRI) the Radar Boot Camp (RBC) held at the IEEE International Radar Confernece in Atlanta, GA from May 3 -4, 2025. The event was a great success, thanks to all of our wonderful, experience and engaging lecturers

  • Dr. Eric Mokole, History of Radar
  • Dr. Justin Metcalf, Introduction to Radar and Radar Range Equation
  • Dr. Matthew Ritchie, Radar Signal Processing
  • Dr. Braham Himed, Detection and Estimation
  • Dr. David Schvartzman, Array Signal Processing
  • Dr. William L. Melvin, Space Time Adaptive Processing
  • Dr. Greg Showman, Synthetic Aperture Radar
  • Dr. Kristine Bell, Target Tracking
  • Dr. Sevgi Z. Gurbuz, AI/ML in Radar

and especially due to the Analog Devices/Mathworks team led by Jon Kraft and Honglei Chen. We had two days of interactive lectures/labs covering a spectrum of fundamental radar topics. Participants included both students and industry, giving engaging interactions, sharing of experiences and opportunities for networking.

I highly recommend the RBC for those working/learning radar. The next Radar Boot Camps will be held in the IEEE Radar Conference Krakaw, Poland (this October 2025) and IEEE Radar Conference Phoenix, Arizona (next May 2026).
