Two professors from Pakistan, Dr. Bushra Naeem of BUITEMS and Dr. Rabia Nazir from UET Lahore, visited the University of Alabama for a two week educational exchange. Drs. Bushra and Rabia visited with Dr. Gurbuz starting with observing her teaching in the class ECE 320 Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering, a required class teaching circuit analysis for non-ECE majors. Afterwards, we engaged in many interesting discussions about education in the U.S. vs. Pakistan and teaching methods for electrical engineering. We topped it off with a nice lunch at Another Broken Egg Cafe, which is located right next to the beautiful Black Warrior river that passes through Tuscaloosa. Additionally, Dr. Gurbuz gave Drs. Bushra and Rabia a tour of CI4R lab, giving more information about the different radar sensors we utilize in Cyber Physical Human Systems, and information about recent results obtained in radar-based American Sign Language recognition and gait analysis.
