Vincent Tompkins is a current ECE PhD student at North Carolina State University. He received dual BSc. majors in Electrical and Computer Engineering from NCSU in 2013 and completed a MSc. of Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on digital signal processing from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico in San Juan in 2016. His master thesis concluded his research efforts to simulate and validate plasma diagnostics probes while working with PUPR’s Plasma Lab. His current research focuses on addressing the issues and implications of imbalanced datasets in computer vision tasks such as remote sensing.
