Hassan is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from NC State University under the supervision of Dr. Zeljko Pantic. He is also working as a graduate research assistant at the Future Renewable Electric Energy Delivery and Management (FREEDM) Systems Center. His research interests include the design of Capacitive WPT Systems and power electronic converter controls.

Hassan has obtained a B.Sc. Electrical Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of the Punjab (PU), Lahore in 2015. During his undergraduate studies, he participated in various inter-university competitions under the supervision of Dr. Umar Farooq. He obtained a Master of Electrical Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore in 2018 and conducted research under the advisership of Dr. Farhan Mahmood.  During graduate studies, he has also worked as a Graduate Assistant in the same department of UET Lahore. He has developed and conducted power system protection and power transmission and distribution laboratory experiments.  He has also worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Sharif College of Engineering and Technology Lahore. He has also worked as an Assistant Engineer at National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC), Pakistan, from 2019-2022.
