Matt is a Durham NC native who is pursuing the Masters in Electrical Engineering at NC State.  Before joining FREEDM as a Research Assistant, he worked as a Radiology Engineering Specialist, repairing and maintaining CT scanners and other medical imaging equipment.  After completing his degree, Matt plans to enter the power electronics industry.

Matt’s research interests are resonant power converters, variable capacitance structures, and optimization methods.

While not at FREEDM, Matt enjoys hanging out with his wife and two daughters, and playing very loud music with friends.
