Zhansen Akhmetov
Zhansen Akhmetov was born and raised in Aktobe, Kazakhstan. He graduated from Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan with a B.Sc degree in Electrical Engineering (2020). He was a member of the NU Power Electronics Research Lab (PERL) from 2018-2020. In 2019, Zhansen spent his two-month summer internship at Power Electronics Lab, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. His research area was multilevel power converters – topologies, modulation, current THD analytical evaluation in PERL. So far, Zhansen co-authored 2 journal papers and 2 conference papers. This research experience inspired him to join Ph.D. program at NC State University (2021).
His research interest includes Pressure-Tolerant Electronics and Wireless Charging Systems. At RELACS, He is currently involved with the following projects: Wheelchair project, and Pressure-Tolerant Electronics project.
In his spare time, he enjoys boxing, playing guitar, and exploring the USA.
