Some homeworks and\/or projects will include the use of MATLAB\/Python and ADS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Textbook: 1) M.B. Steer, Microwave and RF Design Series, 2019. (Also available online with library)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This course is taught every Fall semester.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This course is also offered through <a href=\"https:\/\/engineeringonline.ncsu.edu\/online-courses\/fall-2024\/ece-549-rf-design-for-wireless\/\">Engineering Online<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ECE 549 is also part of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ece.ncsu.edu\/grad\/certificate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">5G Technologies Certificate<\/a>&nbsp;Program at NC State.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:#ffffff\" class=\"has-inline-color has-wolfpack-red-color\">ECE 719: Advanced Microwave Design<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Advanced graduate level course on RF system design. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Topics covered include wireless system design concepts, RF modulation\/demodulation, noise and distortion analysis\/measurement methods, overview of phased array systems, noise and nonlinear aspects, passive and active component design including intelligent reflector arrays (design, link budgets, noise analysis), antenna-subset modulation, power amplifiers. This is mainly a project driven course which includes design of QAM Modulator and Demodulator, design aspects of Holographic Surfaces, and Microwave Power Amplifier using industry models..<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Textbook: 1) M.B.
