For network science, I studied community structure for social networks, and also developed a belief propagation algorithm for multi-layer community detection with fusion. My current project focuses on computational neuroscience, where we try to model a population of neurons as a network, using a nonlinear dynamical model. We aim to predict neural response measured by fluorescence microscope, and reveal mechanisms of visual cortex area of the mouse. <a href=\"https:\/\/research.ece.ncsu.edu\/vissta\/students\/yuming-huang\/\">more<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/research.ece.ncsu.edu\/vissta\/wen-tang\/\">Wen Tang<\/a><\/h2>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/research.ece.ncsu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/30\/2018\/11\/wen.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-657 \" src=\"https:\/\/research.ece.ncsu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/30\/2018\/11\/wen-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"130\" height=\"130\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I am currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, USA.\u00a0My research focuses on machine learning and its applications for computer vision.\u00a0More specifically, I m working on developing analysis dictionary learning and Zero-shot Learning methods for image classification problems. <a href=\"https:\/\/research.ece.ncsu.edu\/vissta\/wen-tang\/\">more<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/research.ece.ncsu.edu\/vissta\/students\/sally-ghanem\/\">Sally Ghanem<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>I am a PhD student at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at North Carolina State University.\u00a0\u00a0During my masters,\u00a0I worked on a novel classification framework based on non-parametric statistical metrics. I am interested in handling the challenges that result from the trade-offs in the spatial, temporal, and spectral domains of different satellites by using fusion techniques. <a href=\"https:\/\/research.ece.ncsu.edu\/vissta\/students\/kenneth-tran\/\">more<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/research.ece.ncsu.edu\/vissta\/students\/bo-jiang\/\">Bo Jiang<\/a><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/research.ece.ncsu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/30\/2018\/11\/Bo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-698 \" src=\"https:\/\/research.ece.ncsu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/30\/2018\/11\/Bo-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"130\" height=\"130\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Signals in the brain depend on not only the stimulus, but also the structures of the connectivity between neurons or regions, therefore it is important to give an estimation on the structures that signals rely on. My current interests include pattern recognition, computer vision and machine learning.
