2023 IEEE Electric Ship Technologies Symposium (ESTS)

RELACS team member Shokoufeh Valadkhani presented a work at ESTS 2023 in Alexandria, VA, USA.

The abstract of the work:

Stricter emission regulations, increased fuel prices, and technological advancements in power electronics motivate engineers to explore new hybrid and electric propulsion and power systems and replace the conventional diesel engine propulsion commonly used in ships. Ferries with hybrid power systems (HPSs) and direct current (DC) distribution are gaining more interest due to their capability to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. This paper presents a detailed modeling of mechanical and hybrid electric propulsion systems.
