For testing the frame setup a simple stabilizing controller can (and should) be used. This controller only allows for fully manual mode (while stabilizing the frame somewhat).
Assembly
- Make sure to use the manual for the connections and setup (especially ESC calibration and Radio calibration). Each controller has a different procedure, so follow the manual.
- Mount it with some foam or velcro to reduce vibration noise on the controller.
Components
- Hobbyking KK2.0 Multi-rotor LCD Flight Control Board this one seems to be a nice, flexible one, with setup in software and LCD rather than by flipping switches, but unfortunately burned up without a good reason (with no reason) shortly after connecting it.
- Hobbyking i86 Multi-Rotor Control Board This is the simplest (and cheapest) possible controller, yet it works fine for testing frames.
