Bio

Shreya Ramakanth is a Ph.D. student in the EnBiSys Lab and Optical Sensing Laboratory (OSL) at North Carolina State University. She received her undergraduate degree from RV College of Engineering in Bangalore, India, and moved to the United States in 2021 to pursue graduate studies at NC State. Her research focuses on computer vision, embedded imaging systems, and AI-based technologies for agricultural applications. She works on automated sweetpotato identification, surface defect detection, and hardware-integrated inspection systems for post-harvest sorting and grading. Shreya is a recipient of the SAPLINGS N.C. PSI Graduate Student Award for 2025–2026.
