The voltage regulator are used to provide clean, reliable 5V supply to the sensor node (beaglebone black) and other components using 5V (e.g., the LEDs). The autopilot (APM 2.6) is powered by the battery monitor that is able to provide the unusual 5.3V required by the autopilot. Details on the power setup are here.
Setup
Needs soldering two 3.5mm bullet connectors on the input side and a servo connector on the output. Make sure the output switch is set to 5V (both versions below allow for either 5V or 6V).
