Tanmay Asthana

I received my Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, India in 2010. From 2010 till 2017 I worked in the Modem Subsystems team in Qualcomm, Hyderabad. I was involved in analyzing the performance of various Qualcomm modems at physical layer level. Since 2017 I have been a PhD student at North Carolina State University. My current interests include pattern recognition, computer vision and machine learning. I am working on characterizing 3D shapes mathematically and apply deep learning algorithms on features extracted in this way for shape classification.
